s&k {part three}

[sugarland. texas pride.]

april 28, 2012.

never fear. this is the last round of me talking about that wedding that might have happened almost two months ago. (i have to finish one thing before starting more, right? in other words, this should be read as i'm really bad at blogging and sharing memorable photos.)

now, there's just a few things you need to know about texas. first of all, the rumors are true. texas is big. and everything is bigger in texas. southerners are hilariously sweet. and i'm pretty sure they think they're the only state in the world that matters. and of course, they're more than just a state.
upon first arriving, we hit up the local ihop by our hotel because we were starving from so much flying and attempted navigations. it was a one-woman band, and her name was probably minny. she called my grandpa, 'dad.' and everyone else 'mama' or 'sweetheart.' did i mention we were the only ones in the restaurant for the first half of our meal? it's fine. she was adorable. i wanted to bottle her up and take her home.
the next day, we had a texas bbq lunch with all the fam bam, which was of course delicious. did i mention everything's bigger in texas? not to mention they kept coming around with these delicious little bread things. on top of the overwhelming amount of food to start with. texas win.
in the evening, an open house was held at the home of a family friend of the barrows, and they were more than gracious, the flowers were stunning, the food was delicious, and the evening was beautiful. did i mention the heartwarming southern hospitality and friendliness? a few people essentially told me their whole life story just cause i was standing or sitting nearby. adorable, i tell you. adorable.
 let the photo attack begin!
spring creek barbeque!
texas pride on the freeway. why not, right?
derry.

attack of the fooooood!
the only picture i took of the ring. and it's blurry. so much for that.
tree-lined streets? yes, please.
right? don't i know it.
the 'reality' photo. aka, them looking exhausted before it even started.
something about their stake, that photo of joseph smith, and missionaries?
i'm fuzzy on the details.
but hooray for a janette photo!
sil numba one is adorable.
most candid and realistic photo of these two in existence.
it just says so much, don't you think?
yay weddings! yay weddings?
there might have been singing of love songs involved at the end. might have.
this photo really just speaks for itself.

now that stenzie is six days away from their two month anniversary,
the wedding photos are now complete.
three cheers for the most perfect sistas in law!
like, really.
there are no other two women on earth that would be as perfect for their respective husbands as
kenzie is for steven
and
sherry is for doug.
fact.

on a completely unrelated/related note,
can we please praise the heavens that i'm not having a wedding anytime soon?
i'd have a nervous breakdown.
wayyyy too much work and energy.
okay. cool.

ps. while we're praising the heavens, let us also praise the heavens for steve jobs and the iphone. how the heck did anyone ever find anything before someone in the car owned one?? yeah, i don't know either.

see you in 19 months, stenzie.

but most likely it'll be on the greater than 19 side of life.
and these were our last moments with all three of the originals together.
(plus sherry and kenzie--the wives.)
most likely for an undetermined amount of time.
seeing as i'm leaving the country, during which time they'll most likely both leave the state?
makes life a little more interesting.
aka, we might not see each other all together again until the next hfr (maybe) or my wedding (another maybe).
it's like whatever.
why/how do i always end up in the awkward looking front and center position?
we should have at least spread out and made a line.
i object. we/i look terrible.
final (in person) farewells to the newlyweds have been said.
[we look supes cool in the strong winds.]
and i must say, they were rather lackluster and less than official.
stenzie is off and kickin it in austin, tejas.
[yes i have celebrity couple names for my brothers. derry and stenzie. perfectly normal.]
mr.smarty pants is interning there this summer. he's in the big leagues now.
i guess this 18 month mission thing is real life, eh?

peace out, brother bear and kenzer.
see you in two. ish.

[i tried to look back and find pictures that weren't from the wedding in which all of us look remotely normal.
yeah, we won't talk about how far back i had to go. that idea went down faster than a remote control airplane with a dead battery.]

рождение

stenzie is so cool.
for my birthday (among other cool mission things),
they gave me cutouts of the plan of salvation in RUSSIAN.
with english on the other side, of course.
cheat sheet.
spoiler alert. yes they made me re-try on everything i had bought so far for the mish.
yes, they will pay for it someday.
any experts in pranks or revenge? come talk to me.
haaahahaha.

okay so i'm kind of just really excited.
SIX WEEKS TOMORROW!
see you soon, ukraine.
t-minus four months.

s&k {part two}

[ the first celebration. ]

the evening of april 21st, a wedding dinner with mostly just family was held at thanksgiving point. yes, it was in the middle of the tulip festival. yes, it was completely beautiful. cousins were recruited as aids, roommate lauren rose was hired for her quartet, the slaved-over interview video was played, and the evening went off without a hitch.
a photo of the photo displayed at the wedding dinner. it's even prettier in person.
sherry fixing the falling-out hair.
mikey is so cool. he has to beat the women off with a stick.
erik and mark!
on the left is lauren rose. my roommate. how cool is she??
the bride's bouquet.

steve. in the car, with the girl. driving off into the sunset.

don't even worry, i only have one more round of pictures about the wedding.
the texas adventure!
next stop, sugarland.

s&k {part one}

[ the sealing. ]

april the twenty-first, two-thousand and twelve.
april 21, 2012
4.21.12

technically, the festivities began the night before, april 20, 2012, with a family wedding dinner at grandma b's house. yummy food, meeting families, and a preview of the wedding video and growing up video. (though i'm pretty sure they wouldn't recommend graduation festivities, a wedding dinner, and a wedding all in the same week. just a guess.)
the wedding day itself, april 21, started as relaxing (there is wisdom in taking groomals before the day-of and scheduling a sealing for afternoon. wisdom, i tell you.), and then i spent some quality time eating cafe rio with the almost bride and groom before they zipped away to the draper, utah temple. and then i arrived at the temple and joined the masses in the waiting room before being lead up to the sealing room. (cousin mikey and i, the missionaries, got to attend the sealing! wiki-whaaaa? so. neat.) and because i'm special and immediate family and everything, despite being in the largest sealing room in practically the world (maybe not actually, but pretty close) i was on the front row, with an excellent view. the temple is such a lovely place. absolutely wonderful. and sealings are so powerful. simple, but powerful. i'm so grateful for such an opportunity in this life. someday. post mish life, of course. it was beautiful. just beautiful. and in those moments, i acquired another sister-in-love. win. [and everything else about a wedding seems completely stupid afterwards. but maybe that's just my opinion.]
these are their 'WE'RE ABOUT TO GET MARRIED! faces.
followed by the, 'WE JUST GOT MARRIED FOREVER!' faces.
excuse the awkward. it's prep for our mishes. (just go with it.)
shaaaaade. waiting for pictures is da best.
i mostly just like this picture because it's just so transparent and telling. haaa.
the nevers name.
the nevers spread.
barrow family.
totes presh.
sil numba one!
there you go makin my heart beat again.
this is doug's 'i'm-humoring-you-with-one-last-picture-now-let's-get-outta-here' face.
and sherry's happy, 'i-love-pictures-i-want-more' face.

thus concludes the temple portion of this little event.
which could also be called the most important part.
everything else we did was icing on the cake.
literally, there was icing. and a cake.
but that's all more for another day. that is not today.

happy happy wedding day, steve and kenz!
i know you'll be on the edge of your seat waiting for more.
(haaahaha. i so funny.)
