when you're away, when i am missing you to death.

watch the sequence.
it wouldn't be so hilarious
if it wasn't exactly what happened in church one sunday.
yes i am being serious.
we're rad.
[literally.]
and yes we look stupid.
it's the thought that counts.
play nice.
we recreated with accuracy.
even the strongest eventually give in.
sometimes sacrament meeting is only so exciting.
even at byu.

37 seconds well used is a lifetime

"All stories, even the ones we love, must eventually come to an end and when they do, it's only an opportunity for another story to begin."
--Eric Applebaum

"I've heard great things about you." --Mr. Magorium
"You have?" --Henry
"Well, no. But I'm sure I will." --Mr. Magorium

"You're already hired, mutant.  There's no need to show off."
--Mr. Magorium

"An accountant.  According to the word, it must be a cross between a counter and a mutant and that may be precisely what we need."
--Mr. Magorium

"We must face tomorrow, whatever it may hold, with determination, joy, and bravery."

{"When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written 'He dies.' That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is 'He dies.' It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with 'He dies.' And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words 'He dies.' but because of the life we saw prior to the words. I've lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading... and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest 'He died.'"}

a new favorite--on the birthday list, for sure.

april the twenty-sixth. 1991.

on this day, a star was born.
a miracle star.
a beautiful star.
a bestie star.
and i don't have words enough to describe
how grateful i am that this star was born on this day.
otherwise, i would be best friendless.
and that just won't do.
especially when i have the best best friend of all!
and i don't even know what else to say.
you entered my life as a miraculous angel,
and you'll be in it forever.
hope you don't mind. :)
i love you, lala!!!
happy 19th!!
and many more to follow.. :)

these are the good days

i've found myself ending a lot of days lately with the thought..
"this was such a good day!"
there have been a lot lately.
and i mean a lot.
gooood days. old-fashioned and wonderful.
i miss my roommates already.
i feel like we got the closest at the end once we were about to be parted.
i hate how that works.
i miss them. a lot.
don't wait. those were the best days.

2

and then there were two.
i don't like the way my empty apartment looks.
it used to have such character.

don't count

it's amazing how many movies i've watched in just the past few days. they keep being turned on in random places and times by various people. the times are pretty various. actually, we're pretty consistent. almost all are started after 12 midnight. just sayin.

i loooooooooove being able to do this. packing and cleaning may stink, but it means the semester is over. and it's not bad to be watching movies and rocking out to killer music. as opposed to killing out to rocker music. ponder that one. movies+packing. definitely doable.

current choice? RATATOUILLE! excuse me while i go and giggle.

"ohhhh you are a clever rat!" --gusteau

just sayin.

starstruck

please do not judge us.
yes we did just watch this movie in its entirety.
on youtube.
in parts.
we're fully aware of how pathetic we are.
we've already laughed it off.

"what are we doing with our lives...?"--cassi
"about the same as an 11 year old."--claira

'nough said.

a bird with no wings, certain that it could fly.

joy.
beauty.
pieces of spring.
warmth.

marriage talk.
hope for haiti.

life confusions.
disappointment.
unwritten.
unknown.

all in a day's work.

rule #3--be a good citizen.

we're good citizens
over here in 174 land.
are you?

isn't that a dinosaur...?

cassi and i just laughed when we saw this drop down list for physical science. we laughed harder at the next chapter's list. it was worse. half the words we have never seen before and are definitely not in the book...hahahahahahahahaha. gooooood one.

an ode to finals

thanks carolina liar for summing it up for me:

"wait, i'm wrong.
should've done better than this.
please, i'll be strong.
i'm finding it hard to resist
so show me what i'm looking for.
save me, i'm lost.
oh lord, i've been waiting for you.
i'll pay any cost.
to save me from being confused.
wait, i'm wrong.
i can do better than this.
i'll pay any cost.
save me from being confused:
show me what i'm looking for."
...

that's all i ask.
i can do better.
actually, in all honesty,
i'm feeling quite good about everything.
for the most part.
my best is all i can give.

"we have to wear sunscreen on stage...

...but it's worth it."

GLEE is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and as hilariously cheesy as ever. :)

"i want a look so optimistic it could cure cancer."

idina freaking menzel!!

ok. i'm done freaking out now. maybe. ;)

updates. because i know you care..i sure do. haaaaa.

(september through february)
1. the bottom quote has become my life motto. everyone needs a life motto. this is mine.
2. member this and this? i've remembered my song again, and found my yellow brick road. :)
3. this is still true. every word. and this is happening more and more often. sad, isn't it?
4.  one more week..i can do it. and as embarrassing as it is to admit, this is still true some days..but then again so is this. go figure how we're both still alive.
5. there have been a lot of beautiful days lately that have reminded me of this. that was years ago, it seems..
6. though i am, of course, still in love with this song. i'm not as in love with him anymore. but he still holds a place in my heart, no worries.
7. yes indeed i do still absolutely and completely love this, this, this, and this song. with all my heart i am obsessed.
8. this is still going strong. which makes me smile. though i have yet to receive a reply in awhile....yes that is meant as a small hint.
9. this is at times true this semester as well, though much more hilarious. last sunday? haaaaa.
10. also true this semester: this. and all these things are also as true now as they were then, as well as this, even though much time has passed. oh crazy. over, already??
11. this is only 18 days away now! oh wow.
12. it's that time of year again..ahhhhhhh! but all of this does still apply, thank heavens. but then again so does this. minds=gone.
13. though our minds are gone, i can feel this just around the riverbend!
14. this turned out to be oh, so true. hallelujah. i love that girl.
15. sadly, though i thought i found a way to change this, i think it still applies. :/
16. yes, this does still apply. i'm still just as obsessed.
17. though this is true, i don't know if i feel the same way when it is april the thirteenth...
18. hahahahaha. that's all i have to say about this. oh, and mole walk. major. i know. sad, right?
19. i can't even begin to describe how overjoyed i am that this is over. it was fun while it lasted. oh wait. no it wasn't. heck to the no. except on the days that cassi came to my class with me..those were definite exceptions. haaaaaaaaaaa.
20. this still applies as much as ever. seriously? get over it. i'll tell you why, if you don't understand. [am i a brat for saying this? oh well. if so, then a brat i am. because it's the truth.]
21. member this?? one of the instigators has a blog of his own now. yes, i never lie. hahahaaaaa.

black jack 21. nothing more needs to be said than that which has already been written. it made me giggle tremendously upon finding all these connections and realizations of updates, though. no lies there.

don't mind me.

yes indeed i am still obsessed with this song. i only listen to this movement twenty kajillion times a day. don't mind me. have you read the words, though?? the sweet message goes straight to the heart. all in the words of a message to a child through a hymn/lullaby.

koooool

--today was a kool-aid and cookie dough day.
--i'm quite certain that i got more sunshine laying on the grass on campus for three hours reading, than i have in the past three months. whoo for vitamin d.
--i think i have been tanned, possibly burned. just sayin'.
--music lists from deborah ann? BEST. nothing can compare to new music finds.

i'm sad we couldn't spend this kool-aid day together. there will be many more. there better be.

friday free

fall 2010 with empty fridays--completely unintentionally? as well as almost completely empty mondays? also completely unintentionally. yes, yes indeed. i could go for that.. :)

p.s. fruitcake friday is TOMORROW, and i could not be more excited!!

and so it comes

"Sunday will come.
In the darkness of our sorrow,
Sunday will come.
No matter our desperation,
no matter our grief,
Sunday will come.
In this life or the next,
Sunday will come."

amazing grace.

amazing grace, how sweet the sound.
that saved a wretch like me.
i once was lost, but now am found.

i love history. more than i ever thought.
it's so moving. captivating.

the fascination of the abomination.
incredible.
